Lee Jongsuk and IU Confirm Breakup After Four Years of Dating
Lee Jongsuk and IU have officially ended their relationship after four years of public dating. Both stars confirmed they recently broke up and decided to remain on good terms as senior and junior colleagues.
According to statements shared with Dispatch on July 10, representatives for both Lee Jongsuk and IU said the couple had recently parted ways.
Lee Jongsuk and IU End Their Relationship
Lee Jongsuk and IU first met in 2012 while serving as MCs for SBS's Inkigayo. After spending nearly a decade as colleagues, they developed a romantic relationship and went public with their dating news in 2022.
According to people close to the two stars, their increasingly busy schedules led to them spending less time together. They ultimately decided to end their relationship while maintaining a positive relationship as colleagues.
Both Stars Continue Their Busy Careers
Despite the breakup, both actors remain focused on their upcoming projects.
Lee Jongsuk is preparing for the release of the upcoming Disney+ original series The Remarried Empress. He has also confirmed his appearance in the live-action adaptation of the popular Naver web novel Lee Seob's Love.
Meanwhile, IU recently wrapped filming for the MBC drama 21st Century Grand Prince's Wife. The singer-actress is currently preparing her new album and is scheduled to hold a concert at Goyang Stadium's Main Stadium this September.
