BLACKPINK upcoming full album 'The Album' revealed to has surpassed 800,000 pre orders!

The group BLACKPINK announced the birth of an all-time album that will leave a big name in K-pop girl group history. With their first full-length album in four years since their debut, they're going to break the history of K-pop girl group "First, Best, and Best" in one shot.

According to YG Entertainment on the 4th, pre-orders for BLACKPINK's first full-length album "THE ALBUM" surpassed 800,000 copies the previous day. This figure is based on the total number of orders placed in the U.S. and Europe, which surpassed 530,000 and recorded more than 270,000 orders (based on the tally of U.S. Universal's label interscope).

Attention has been drawn to whether K-pop girl groups will become million sellers, as well as the record for the first time in history. This is because the first tally came less than a week after preorders began on the 28th of last month. Considering the release schedule of the full-length album, which is still about a month away, actual orders are expected to increase further.

"BLACKPINK's limited-edition LP for 'THE ALBUM' sold out in no time as soon as preorders began," a YG official said. "The general album is also being produced in addition to orders exceeding the initial volume expected."

BLACKPINK is heating up the global music market before releasing its first full-length album. Starting with the collaboration song "Sour Candy" with Lady Gaga in May, the pre-released title "How You Like That" in June and "Ice Cream" with Selena Gomez in August have continued to make a very close move.

In particular, "How You Like That" broke the K-pop girl group's highest ranking by winning 13 music shows, second place on the Spotify Global Top 50 chart, 20th place on the British Official Singles Chart and 33rd place on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart, as well as Melon and other major domestic music charts "Perfect All Kill." In addition, it made a remarkable achievement as the "best song of the summer" selected by YouTube following the award at the MTV Video Music Awards in the U.S.

The recently released single "Ice Cream" also topped the iTunes Worldwide Song Chart on the first day of its release, even though it was a cute and refreshing concept that BLACKPINK first tried. Since then, it has settled at the top of the Spotify Global Top 50 chart without much activity, and the music video has been at the top of YouTube's trending for seven days since its release.
