The pre-order volume of YG rookie TREASURE's first single album surpassed 200,000 copies, taking a step closer to the K-pop artist's highest record for debuting this year.
According to YG Entertainment on the 12th, preorders for Treasure's first single album "THE FIRST STEP: CHAPTER ONE" were more than 200,000 copies as of 11 a.m. on the same day.
With one day left before the official release of the physical album (13th), preorders are expected to increase even more as preorders are increasing in order of Japan, China, and Korea.
If this trend continues, Treasure's first album record is certain to be the largest new YG artist in history. In addition, Treasure is expected to leave the most visible footprints among K-pop rookies in 2020.
A YG official said, "We are currently producing 250,000 copies because additional orders for Treasure's 'THE FIRST STEP: CHAPTER ONE' are being made," adding, "After our debut, the response in Japan has gotten hotter."
Treasure's album had more than 100,000 pre-orders in just two days and 150,000 in four days, signaling an unusual surge in popularity, with the results of the interim tally at the time, which reversed order rankings in Japan and China, respectively.
