Singer Jeon Somi has signed a contract with Interscope Records, the flagship label of the world's largest universal music group.
Jeon Somi's agency, Black Label, announced the signing of the contract with the label Interscope under the Universal Music Group today.
Universal Music Group is the world's largest music business. The Interscope, which will be joined by Black Label, is Universal's representative label, which includes hip-hop, EDM, rock, and pop stars such as Dr. Dre, Eminem, Maroon 5, Madonna, Lady Gaga, Selena Gomez, Billy Eilish.
Earlier in Korea, BLACKPINK has signed a contract with Interscope to enter global markets such as the U.S., South America, and Europe and set a record.
Jeon Somi is now standing shoulder to shoulder with the world's leading artists within a year of her debut. In other words, the U.S. first recognized the global influence demonstrated through YouTube without any special activities in the region.
"Somi has approached pop music in her own unique and delicate style and is ready to become a next-generation global artist," Interscope said. "Not only that, but we have also continued to have a relationship with YG Family, Teddy, and Black Label, which will bring about better results."
