While the music video of Taiwanese singer Dew Dew (Elaine Ho) became controversial with a concept similar to IU's, the producer opened his mouth.
The video in question was the music video of the digital single "Possible Love" released by Taiwanese actor and singer Dew Dew on 16th, which has been criticized for being similar to the music video of "Palette" released by IU in April 2017.
Many netizens have pointed out this after the release of The U.S. music video on the 16th. Overseas netizens are "too similar to IU's music video," "the concept is totally IU," and "be ashamed." This is plagiarism and clumsy copy," and "It's pathetic to make an excuse for using IU's 'Palette' as a reference, but it's clearly plagiarism."
Director Lee Raekyung, who directed the music video for "Palette," wrote in an Instagram story, "Many people have reported about my music video plagiarism. It's been around for a long time, so I'm thinking about it. If the viewers know, that's enough for me. Thank you for all your worries and support," he said.
And then added a comparison of screenshots of the music video for "Palette" and "Possible Love" and photos of Daniel Chun, the producer of "Possible Love," having a meeting to announce that he was aware of the plagiarism.
